The first time Pedro Batista came in contact with art was in the early 90’s through some of his friends who were starting to experiment with graffiti, in Carcavelos, Portugal, where he grew up. That kind of culture and atmosphere, coupled to the fact that he was an enthusiastic skater, gave him the freedom needed to get connected to art; a connection that has only grown stronger over the years.

Here, in 2003, he began taking a bit of that skate culture, and of himself, onto the canvas. A skatepark, my DC sneakers, my wonderings.
