WINNERS ANNOUNCED!! Thank you to all who participated! The first place gets to take the painting home. Second and third places get features alongside the painting during the exhibition. Congrats everyone!
First Place: André Campos

Rasgar
Liberto-me da condição de escravo, não mais me consumo de pena nem culpa, pena de mim, culpa minha, tudo meu. Quem me rasgou a vida levou-me o tempo. Rasguei o tempo à carne, lambi o sangue. Levantei as mãos ao céu e deixei-as ficar, dancei, de mãos levantadas enquanto expurgava todos os meus pecados porque eu sempre quis ser bom. Em quanto amor insisti?
————————————————————————————————-
Second place: Benedita SN

The Man in Hell
A Man is dead in life when his Myths are enclosed. In the trench of Hell he is told he can never leave. Burning flows of anger in his mind, through his veins.

The Red Dragon fighter in mutation will soon appear. Crossing the seas and the deserts of prejudices and pain. To free the soul of the Man his Heart he couldn’t hear.
———————————————————————————————-

In the summer of 2011, Pedro was invited by the Street Art group Walk&Talk to do some art interventions in the island of S. Miguel, in the Azores. These great pieces were created intuitively on the spot, allowing the environment to do its part in inspiring creativity.

In December 2010, Pedro Batista moved to Berlin for 5 months — a strategic change into a highly creative new scenery that inspired him to produce these wonderful and striking pieces.

On some on these paintings, canvas is replaced and/or mixed with raw linen, granting an impressive feel of volumetry in texture.
